St. Francis Ukulele Orchestra presents Christmas concert
Join the St. Francis Ukulele Orchestra on Friday, December 19, at 7 p.m. for a sing-along concert of Christmas favorites! The concert will be held at Sacred Heart Chapel on the campus of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, 116 8th Avenue SE, Little Falls. Bring your friends and your singing voice to this heartwarming celebration of Christmas, through the Christmas carols you love.
The St. Francis ukulele program for seniors began in 2017 with a grant from Vitality Arts. The goal of the grant was to create high-quality arts programming for seniors. St. Francis Music Center started with one beginning class, free for all aged 55 plus. With the popularity of the class, an intermediate class had to be added, then an advanced class—and from there it became obvious we needed a ukulele orchestra! Since 2020, the program has been sponsored by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Over 500 seniors from central Minnesota have been a part of the free senior programming at the Music Center.
Attendance at the concert is free of charge. Donations will be gratefully accepted to help support the St. Francis Music Center, a sponsored ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minnesota.
